Closing of Private Placement

Maple Leaf Reforestation Inc. ("Maple Leaf" or the "Corporation") is pleased to announce that subject to final approval from the TSX Venture Exchange, the proposed private placement of units that was previously announced on April 1, 2009 has now closed and was oversubscribed. The Corporation received subscriptions for 5,075,500 Units at a subscription price of $0.10 per Unit, for total proceeds of $507,550. As previously announced, each Unit consists of one common share and one common share purchase warrant, exerciseable until May 22, 2011 at a price of $0.20. The common shares of the Corporation to be issued pursuant to the private placement are subject to a four month hold period from the closing date, making them freely tradeable on September 23, 2009. In connection with the private placement Maple Leaf paid finder’s fees in the amount of $7,966 to various arm’s length parties.
Maple Leaf intends to use the proceeds from the private placement to advance its various China operations and for general working capital.
